precedent earlier this year by adopting the first-of-its-kind
legally binding international AI framework. Aimed at ensuring the
respect of human rights, the rule of law, and democracy in the use

without hampering innovation.

Cybersecurity Act (CS Act) 2018 via the Cybersecurity (Amendment)

On September 28, 2023, the Cyberspace Administration of China
("CAC") published the draft Provisions on Regulating
and Promoting Cross-Border Data Flows ("Draft
Provisions") for public consultation.
The Draft Provisions significantly ease the triggering
conditions for security assessments, standard contractual clauses
("SCCs"), and security certifications by proposing a
series of exemptions for transfers that would otherwise be subject
to China's data transfer restrictions.
