Sculptor Rebecca Appleby is having a hectic time. The resident ceramicist at Yorkshire Sculpture Park is fresh from a successful Open Studio weekend, has clients waiting on commissions and has been jetting off to work with the Qatari royal family. So it is something of a coup for Rural Arts’ creative producer Kate Redding to have secured three days of Appleby’s expertise for a series of workshops in Thirsk this September.

Thirsk will host its first Mini Pride this summer with a day-long event taking place in June aiming to bring people together. The town’s Rural Arts is working together with leading LGBTQ+ organisation Curious Arts, to deliver the family-friendly event for all ages to enjoy.
