Today, known as The Today Show, is a morning news and talk television program that is broadcasted on NBC. It first premiered on January 14, 1952, making it the first show of its kind in both the United States and globally. It holds the title of the fifth-longest-running television series in America. Initially, the show aired for two hours on weekdays, but it added a one-hour Sunday program in 1987 and a two-hour Saturday show in 1992. The weekday edition then grew to three hours in 2000 and further extended to four hours in 2007.
