Mimi Satanista describes themselves as a genre-blending artist and producer who turns paranoia into poetry. Their new track, Delusional, came out on Friday (9 May) and is available to listen to on Spotify. The spoken word piece is set against glitchy, bass-heavy production, fusing distorted beats and raw rap vocals.

    Acclaimed artist Sally Dyer is set to launch a new arts program at Chew’s Yard. Preston-based Sally, who was a semi-finalist in Sky Arts’ Portrait Artist of the Year competition, kicks-off her new portrait painting workshop on Sunday 18 May. The hands-on Heritage Portraits with Artist Sally Dyer session will see Sally helping participants discover the art of portrait painting and create an original A4 canvas acrylic painting of a loved one. No prior experience is necessary.

    Two University of Central Lancashire history students and a local expert from the Friends of Winckley Square have collaborated on a project for Railway 200, which marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway. Joshua Brayshaw and Emily Castle researched the history of the railway in Preston as part of their BA degree, particularly focusing on the station and its impact on the shape and development of the city.

    Preston Jazz Festival is returning for 2025 with a total of 42 different free musical events and activities. Between Sunday 18 May and Saturday 7 June, 17 concerts and 24 participatory workshops will take place across different city venues.
