    Employees at a dairy farm have been evacuated due to a large fire that emergency services now have under control. Emergency services were scrambled to a fire at the farm close to Alston Dairy between Longridge and Grimsargh at around 2.30pm this afternoon (14 May). The operators of Alston Dairy, James Hall & Co, confirmed that they had closed and evacuated the dairy as a precaution due to the fire.

    Two men have been charged after a run of offences were reported across the South Ribble and Preston areas. Police issued an appeal in April for the public’s help in finding Niall Farmer and Aiden Craigy. They were also wanted in connection with reports in Fylde. Both were arrested in Preston on Monday afternoon (12 May).

    Shops in Preston and the wider Lancashire area will not be able to sell single-use vapes from June 1, trading standards officers have warned. It will be against the law to sell those vapes from June 1 across the whole of the UK and they must instead be disposed of safely. Trading standards officers at Lancashire County Council have been working to remind shops to run down existing stocks before the ban comes into force.

    A search is underway for a missing woman police believe is in the Preston area. Theresa Fitzpatrick, 38, was last seen in the Burnley area at 6.50am on Thursday (8 May). She also has links to Blackpool. Police are appealing for information regarding her whereabouts.
