It’s 2025, and the vibes feel a bit…off. It’s been nearly five years since the murder of George Floyd and the national and global protests it sparked. Since then, we’ve seen local efforts to stop public schools from teaching about racism in America; withdrawal of federal funding for DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) programs; and a broad attitude shift against various progressive causes.

(RNS) — Did you know there are piles of guidebooks meant to help women excel at being the church’s first lady? They could be the talk of the ladies’ luncheon if you’re not careful.

(RNS) — Q has been in the evangelical ecosystem my entire professional life. Founded by Gabe and Rebekah Lyons in 2007, Q describes itself as “a learning community that mobilizes Christians to advance the common good in society.” Its most popular offering is an annual conference, once held in different U.S. cities but hosted for the last several years in Nashville, Tennessee.

Several weeks ago, after discussing empathy on the podcast I cohost, a few folks messaged me about the upcoming THINQ Culture Summit, formerly the Q Conference. They noted that one of this year’s speakers is Allie Beth Stuckey. Stuckey recently published a book on “toxic empathy,” also the topic of her upcoming keynote. Wow, I’m flattered that “Woke Preacher Clips” was ruffled enough by this rather measured exchange to call it out! But also, note that when women offer criticism they’re being mean — but when he and his ilk do it they’re just speaking the truth, or something.

The Holy Post is CONCERNED and ALARMED that @conservmillen is speaking at the Q Conference this year "without a countervailing presence," which is "signaling to evangelicals who are more centrist or even left of center, like, this probably isn't for you."
