During its monthly meeting on Thursday night, the 11-member school board voted 8-0 in favor of a resolution that opposes HB0793/SB0836 by State Senator Bo Watson. Loved ones of rapper James Reynolds, also known as ‘Biggie Moe,’ gathered in Coolidge Park Sunday afternoon to remember a beloved friend and inspiration to many in Chattanooga after he was tragically killed last year. The rapper was fifty-seven at the time he was shot and killed in his vehicle on January 9th, 2024. Nearly a year later he's remembered for the legacy he leaves.
A family member told Local 3 News that he was shot and killed last night in Chattanooga.

An already popular spot here in Chattanooga on sunny days became a "cool spot" on this snowy day, and it was the perfect place to spend the special occasion. "We haven’t really ever seen snow like this in Chattanooga,” says Preston Pruett, a Chattanooga resident. School students in the Tennessee Valley may have a hard time sleeping tonight as residents anticipate the snow day tomorrow. Kids are taking the opportunity to have some fun in the snowy weather, and some of them already have ideas of how they plan to spend the day. Fifth graders Harper Venza, Andie Boike, and Sophia Geraci attend Normal Park Museum Magnet. They plan to spend the day with each other. "I love building snowmen, so lots of snowmen, snow angels, snowball fights,” says Boike.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a fire like that before,” says Joe Robbins Jr., a Chattanooga resident. “This was just a big, black funnel. I’ve never seen something like that before.”Robbins says he noticed what he thought was fog or haze surrounding Lookout Mountain, assuming it was from the cold weather. He saw the same white smoke earlier in the afternoon when he walked into a Subway located near the mountain. He says no more than 10 minutes had passed when he walked back outside.

County Commissioners met behind closed doors today to introduce a potential replacement for current Hamilton County Attorney Rheubin Taylor. The decision to hold private one-on-one meetings while denying access to the public raises suspicion, but doesn’t violate Tennessee law. Tennessee’s Open Meetings Act, also known as the Sunshine Law, is a law that requires government meetings to be transparent and open to the public. It also requires public notice of the meeting before it takes place.
