UPDATE: The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released the preliminary report of its investigation of a deadly plane crash in Lafayette in March. The NTSB says 52-year-old Steven Boyd Powell, a licensed pilot and owner of the plane, took off from the airport in Rome, Georgia, and landed in Lafayette. He picked up 48-year-old Russell Edward Jones, another licensed pilot and instructor.

UPDATE: The second driver who died in a crash in Walker County has been identified as Cassiddy Mitchell, 19, of Rock Spring, according to Georgia State Patrol. The passenger who was air-lifted was her little brother, Cooper Mitchell, 15, of Rock Springs. He remains in the hospital. A Meal Train has been created for the Mitchell family.
