Students whose tutoring was abruptly ended three months before the end of the school year are now being championed by a coalition of 16 attorneys general. The coalition, including New York Attorney General Letitia James and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, filed a lawsuit Thursday against the Trump administration. They are seeking the funding that the U.S. Education Department agreed to let schools use to help students recover from the coronavirus pandemic shutdown.

The computer versions of the state English Language Arts and math tests are now working after two days of problems, the state Education Department announced. The vendor in charge of running the computer-based tests, NWEA, said Thursday afternoon that it had fixed the problems.
