AbstractLeft ventricular (LV) strain rate (SR) during early relaxation correlates with LV filling pressures and has been assessed as a prognostic biomarker in several cardiac diseases. Conversely, even though LV SR during isovolumic relaxation (SRIVR) is more strongly related to invasive measurements of LV diastolic function, to date, studies on the role of SRIVR in the long-term prognosis assessment are lacking.

AbstractEndurance exercise has the potential to affect reproductive function, with amenorrhea in female athletes. However, most studies focus on women. Evidence on the association between endurance exercise and male fertility is limited. To synthesise existing literature on exercise-induced alterations in semen parameters and to assess the clinical impact on male fertility. Studies reporting on the association between semen parameters and endurance exercise in healthy men were eligible.

Dear Editor,We read with great interest the systematic review and meta-analysis by Aarts et al. [1]. We would like to congratulate the authors. The current meta-analysis shows that there is no clear benefit of performing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) when looking at hard endpoints, mostly at 30 days and 1 year [1].
