Pennsylvania had 1,127 traffic fatalities in 2024, including 18 in Monroe County. The statewide total was the second lowest since record keeping began in 1928. The lowest total on record is 1,059 in 2019. “While this decrease in fatalities is certainly good news, even one life lost is one too many,” Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Secretary Mike Carroll said in a press release.
