WAYNE COUNTY, Pa. — For 123 years, the Skinners Falls Bridge has stood over the Delaware River in Damascus Township. On Thursday, piece by piece, crews began tearing it down. "It's the end of an era. It's the end of an era and we tried," said Jane Ircha of Damascus Township. The bridge connects this part of Wayne County to  New York state. PennDOT officials say several inspections revealed structural failures, prompting the need to tear the bridge down to avoid a collapse.

MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — The sign in front of the fire house for Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder in Syndersville is a rotation of upcoming fundraisers. Chief Paul Warnick says it is becoming more expensive than ever to keep the fire company running to cover Hamilton and Ross Townships, plus provide mutual aid to other departments. "It's getting to the point where we are spending more time on fundraising on our drill nights than training.
