Welcome to all new readers! This is the sixth interview in a series where we celebrate the intentional choice to live as whole persons and not just one-dimensional job titles. The overwhelmingly positive response to my essay, Leaning (In and) Out, (Not) Having it All, suggested to me that there are a lot of women (and men) who are keen to set aside the societal pressure to hustle hard and put all their energies and decades of life exclusively into one single career box.

Hey there,I love the seasonality of life (which is why, as much as I sometimes want to move to Hawaii, I think Iâd miss the change in natural seasons). This is the time of year Iâm tempted to throw in my hat in the game of productivity or perseverance, because as both a teacher and a mother, post-Spring Break in the school year is just hard.

Hey there,Today Iām baking several dozen cookies for our annual Cookie Swap with friends held at our house tomorrow morning, and later this evening weāre doing jolabokaflod (yes, itās traditionally on Christmas Eve, but do what you gotta doāour family plans dictate that this year itās on the 22nd). Tomorrow afternoon Kyle and I will embark on our traditional date wherein we go out to eat and then collect stocking stuffers for the clan.
