Aliya Degeit is 15 years old and was last confirmed to be seen on May 20 in the 100 block of Cumberland Street North. TBPS have released a photo of this sighting. She is described as a white female, 5’0” tall, with a thin build. She has medium-length wavy dark brown hair and brown eyes.

    NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO — The OPP reported a increase of just over 10 per cent in calls were made to police in Northwestern Ontario. During last week's reporting period, from May 19 to 25, police logged 1,720 incidents for detachments in Dryden, Kenora, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, and Rainy River, compared to the previous week. Across all five detachments, there were 415 charges, including both criminal charges  and incidents under the Highway Traffic Act.

    THUNDER BAY — Provincial police in Thunder Bay noted an increase in calls during their last reporting week. Between May 19 and 25, there was a total of 358 reported incidents in Thunder Bay, an increase of almost 24 per cent when compared to the week before. Notably, 196 of the incidents reported were for eTickets, with traffic complaints and property checks rounding out the top three categories.

    SUPERIOR NORTH — An increase call was noted by provincial police for the Superior North region last week. With detachments in Nipigon, Marathon and Greenstone, officers responded to 472 calls during the reporting period of May 19 to 25. This represents an eight percent increase in reported incidents compared to the previous week. Requests for police escorts, property checks, eTickets and R.I.D.E programs were the top categories of police activity.

    NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO — An officer with the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service has been cleared of any wrongdoing after an investigation by the Special Investigations Unit. SIU was informed on Feb. 3 of an incident that occurred on Dec. 28, 2024, of police responding to a weapons call. During the incident, NAPS officers attended a call for reports of a person brandishing a knife. During the incident, the suspect was told to drop the knife and refused, according to police.
