Renovations are underway on the 18,300-square-foot building located at 2040 Division Ave. near Burton Street, which was once a sporting goods store. Once work is done, The Emory Arts and Culture Hub will serve as the new headquarters for The Diatribe, which works to connect art and activism.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Grand Rapids is celebrating its 175th birthday Saturday with a free party for the community. The 175th Birthday Bash is being held at Rosa Parks Circle. It kicks off at 2 p.m. with an opening prayer from members of the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians. The festivities will feature live music and entertainment, carnival games, balloon artists and a scavenger hunt. There will be plenty of food, including cake, ice cream, hotdogs and popcorn.

    HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a woman was hospitalized Friday after a rear-end crash in Holland Township. It happened just after 11:40 a.m. on Riley Street near 100th Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. A 44-year-old woman was heading east in a white Jeep, according to the sheriff’s office. At the same time, two cars were stopped on Riley at a traffic signal.
