Sally-Ann Dale didn’t have far to move after finding her version of the perfect New York townhouse. For the previous 15 years, Dale, originally from England, had called north Brooklyn home—first Williamsburg, then two different sections of neighboring Greenpoint. When a historic property went on the market along a stately tree-lined street a stone’s throw from the East River, and her own prior perch, Dale jumped at the chance. “The home had been in the same family for almost 100 years,” she says.
