Four Ulster titles and a slew of medals and PBs came home with Enniskillen Lakelanders from the Ulster Championships in Bangor last weekend. A squad of 12 swimmers from the club attended the Ulster Age Group and Senior LC Championships at the Bangor Aurora Leisure Complex. Over 32 clubs from acoss Ulster were represented with Ulster podium spots and important Summer National qualification times up for grabs.

Garry Jennings continued his winning streak with a victory at the Campbell Contracts May Day Rally on Monday afternoon at St Angelo. The victory is his third win in four rallies, after winning the Tour of the Sperrins, the Manx Rally in the Isle of Mann and now the Enniskillen May Day. While two weeks ago he came second at the Circuit of Ireland Rally. Jennings was a late entry for Monday’s event but winning on his home patch was enjoyable, said the Kesh man.

Connacht…0Ulster…30Ulster Juniors travelled to Castlebar on Saturday and picked up a bonus-point win against Connacht, to leave them top of the league table after two rounds. Enniskillen had seven representatives on the side with Eddie and Henry Keys at 10 and 6 respectively, Michael Rooney in the second row, Sam Balfour got his first start on the right wing, as did Neil Rutledge at loose head, having only transitioned to the front row this season.

The Finn Valley Centre in Stranorlar, Co. Donegal was the venue for day one of the E District Ulster Schools’ Track and Field Championships last Wednesday. Students from Fermanagh performed well in very warm conditions against stiff competition from South Donegal, Cavan and Tyrone in the intermediate and senior age groups, with the top three in all events going forward to the Ulster finals.

Seamus Quigley was the star of the show for Roslea on Saturday evening, kicking a sublime 17 points at Shamrock Park. The opening score of the evening arrived just three minutes in when Sean Quigley hit a neat two-pointer for his side. At the other end, Aghadrumsee responded with scores from Aidan Bannon and Eddie Courtney to level matters after the ball was moved in because of Roslea dissent.
