New signs are going up in Fort Worth targeting panhandling. "It's okay to say no to panhandlers."That's the message posted on signs installed at the North Beach Street and Highway 121 intersection. Over the next few weeks, the city will install the same signs at 27 intersections. According to a city memo, the signs are meant to discourage people from giving to those asking for money while they're stopped at red lights.

"Every year, what we see is a lot of people get these notices and not many people know what to do with them," said Compass real estate agent Ben Lauer. Testifying at the state capitol on Wednesday, Adair-Smith shared how her mother, Phyllis Payne, was murdered inside her senior living facility in May of 2016. "Billy Chemirmir knocked on my mother's door. He had stalked her, then murdered her and stole from her," testified Adair-Smith.
