A Roanoke man has been sentenced to two life sentences plus 10 years in prison Friday for repeatedly molesting a child in Westmoreland County, court records show. Brandon Lee Allen, 38, received the sentence in Westmoreland Circuit Court, where a jury convicted him in November of rape, sodomy and aggravated sexual battery.

The third person killed in last week's wild shooting incident in Spotsylvania has finally been identified as 19-year-old county resident Sincere Devon Fitz, police said Monday. Fitz was one of the casualties stemming from a botched robbery/gun sale April 8 in the Olde Greenwich neighborhood. His name was not released last week pending confirmation from a medical examiner. Four teenagers were charged following the incident, three juveniles and 18-year-old Jeremiah Upson of Caroline County.

A Ruther Glen man was taken into custody Friday following a barricade situation that lasted four and a half hours and began after he allegedly shot at a fleeing woman during a domestic dispute, police said. Shane Iverson Stevens, 45, was charged with attempted malicious wounding and possessing a firearm as a violent felon, Caroline Sheriff Scott Moser said. He also had probation violation warrants in both Caroline and Louisa.
