NORWICH (WBNG) -- As of Thursday according to the Delaware Valley Humane Society, all but one of the dogs they took in following an animal cruelty case have been adopted and headed to new homes. The Humane Society said when the animals were taken from their homes, many of them were suffering from upper respiratory infections, ear mites and ear infections and fleas.

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - Binghamton City Council representatives Kinya Middleton and Hadassah Mativetsky held a town hall meeting Tuesday night regarding a solution to the possibility of a food desert on the city’s south side. This comes after Weis announced it will be closing its Conklin Avenue location effective March 2, leaving southside residents without a nearby grocery store.

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Residents came together outside Mirabito Stadium to mourn the loss of 20-year-old Qualyn Terry, known to many by his nicknames, Q or Rocky. Terry was shot and killed this past Friday in a drive by shooting near the stadium. According to Binghamton police, an investigation determined he was operating a vehicle when he was shot, causing the car to crash, the investigation remains ongoing.

ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Mike Sigler formally announced his campaign for New York State Senate at the sons of Italy in Endicott on Wednesday night. Sigler is running in the 52nd district, which encompasses most of Broome County and all of Cortland and Tompkins counties. The seat is currently held by Democrat Lea Webb, who narrowly won with a 51-49 margin in one of the state’s closest races in 2022. Sigler was endorsed tonight by Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar.

Three months after the race between Republican Phillip Strawn and Democrat Rebecca Rathmell ended in a tie-on election night, Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham and Binghamton city council continue to battle against each other to have their preferred candidate in the chair.
