A Syracuse nonprofit is raising money to build a residential substance abuse treatment center for women and their young children. Mothers and Children in Crisis, or MCC, said there is no in-patient substance abuse treatment facility in Onondaga County where women can live with their children while receiving care. With a growing number of women struggling with substance abuse during their pregnancy and as parents, they said this is needed now more than ever.
