Jerome Tang and the Kansas State men’s basketball team ended a busy day of roster moves on a high note. Now that her memorable college basketball run is over, it’s time for Kansas State guard Serena Sundell to focus on a professional career. She is off to a good start, as she already has a home at the next level. The Seattle Storm selected Sundell in the third round of the WNBA Draft in New York on Monday. She was the 26th overall pick of the night. It was an exciting moment for Sundell, who finished her college career as the all-time assists leader at Kansas State.

When Kansas State’s basketball season came to an end last month at the Big 12 Tournament, head coach Jerome Tang said he wanted to take a new approach with his roster. Instead of bringing in a boatload of new transfers, he wanted to retain as many players as possible. If the Wildcats could maintain a solid foundation of talented players, Tang hoped that they could also build from the ground up and win with a long-term approach that valued the program over the team.

Most farewell posts from college athletes are very poorly done, but this is a good one from DNG.
