Citing soaring demand for cloud and AI, Microsoft on Wednesday reported higher Azure revenue than analysts forecast. The totals came to 33% growth in the quarter ending March 31, surpassing estimates of just almost 30%. “Cloud and AI are the essential inputs for every business to expand output, reduce costs and accelerate growth," said Satya Nadella, chairman and CEO of Microsoft. Azure’s increase was higher than the numbers reported last week over at rival Google Cloud.
