Finals are wrapping up, graduations are commencing, and summer has officially kicked off. And, with the sunny season at our fingertips, I am desperate for beautiful days and warm weather. Summer is also a time for tons of celebrations including our first beach days and dips in the ocean, Memorial Day barbecues with friends and family, our first ice cream cones of the season, and, of course, Pride Month.

Picture this scenario: Finals are finally over and you and your best friends want to throw the ultimate end-of-year door room party. You want fun decorations, delicious food, and some drinks, of course. You hop onto Instacart to order everything you need. But then you realize, you have no idea what everyone wants. One friend had a gluten allergy, another hates tequila and seltzers, and you don’t have much money to put down for the bill. It’s not a secret that most college students are broke.

It is finally May! After the dark nights and the cold wind, we have come out the other side pale, but happy. Now that the school year is wrapping it up, it is time to start planning for summer. Personally, I’m picturing myself at thebeach all day, tanning and swimming in the ocean or maybe attending a picnic in Central Park with my best friends laughing and catching up as we play Spikeball and eat sandwiches.

I am a firm believer in a sweet and salty flavor combination. I’m a huge fan of snacks like chocolate-covered pretzels and caramel corn, and, of course, the most popular sweet and salty combination, chicken and waffles. This dish is iconic because it is not only delicious, but can literally be eaten for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and/or dinner. The problem? It can be difficult to find. Thankfully, KFC has given us everything we have dreamed of.

Last week, the grocery chain dropped the newest iteration of the Trader Joe’s pastel mini totes in gorgeous spring shades, but the TikTok-viral product and customer-favorite accessory flew off the shelves a little too fast.
