AbstractThe development of single-cell RNA-sequencing assays has transformed our understanding of cellular and tissue heterogeneity, yielding significant insights into disease biology and its underlying mechanisms. In this work, we describe icCITE-seq (intracellular cellular indexing of transcriptomes and epitopes), a scalable method that simultaneously measures surface and intracellular protein levels alongside gene expression across thousands of cells.

Image to image matching has been well studied in the computer vision community. Previous studies mainly focus on training a deep metric learning model matching visual patterns between the query image and gallery images. In this study, we show that pure image-to-image matching suffers from false positives caused by matching to local visual patterns. To alleviate this issue, we propose to leverage recent advances in vision-language pretraining research.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Taiwan’s Navy revealed that it has sent 11 letters to the U.S. urging the expedited delivery of 250 Stinger missiles it previously requested.
Since 2021, it also sent two formal complaints to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) calling for the project manager to be replaced and regular meetings, the Navy said, per CNA.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Trade with China does not affect relations between Taiwan and Paraguay, President Santiago Pena said on Friday (March 22).
Speaking on Argentina’s Radio Rivadavia, Pena said the 66-year friendship between Taiwan and Paraguay runs deep. Paraguay continues to export soybeans to China.
The president said Taiwan and Paraguay share similar histories and are both surrounded by major powers.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Kuomintang (KMT) Legislator Ma Wen-chun (馬文君) is set to visit Taiwan’s Taiping Island on May 16 with a delegation of other KMT and Taiwan People’s Party lawmakers on the Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee.
The group plans to fly to the island from Pingtung Air Force Base aboard a C-130 plane. Once on the island, the lawmakers will inspect defense facilities and hardware before returning to Pingtung the same day, CNA reported.
