    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - A resource center inside the Tuscaloosa City School system welcomed many of the families it serves to a special event. Organizers hosted a resource fair for people it serves. Tuscaloosa City Schools formed the New Heights Community Resource Center to address problems some of its students faced outside of school that made it harder for them to succeed in the classroom. New Heights invited people to its first community wellness event. Several of its partners attended.

    TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC) - The spring semester ended a few weeks ago for Tuscaloosa City Schools, and school leaders are already working to fill job openings in time for the start of fall classes. Tuscaloosa City Schools still needs dozens of teachers, bus drivers, and some support staff to be ready for kids to return for a new school year. Tuscaloosa City Schools has around 51 classroom openings left to fill.

A long friendship and building trust with the team’s head coach over sparked that business trip. Woodrow Washington, the owner of Archibald’s BBQ and Archibald and Woodrow’s, developed a relationship with coaches for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Law enforcement authorities recently credited some of the work it did help to take a violent gang off the street. The Tuscaloosa Police Department’s Forensics Lab matches bullets and shell casings to the guns that fired them.
