School leavers allegedly assaulted tourists on Rottnest Island and pelted bottles at police, with officers trained in controlling riots and public unrest called in to help restore order on the holiday island. Police say a group of about 400 high school students, some as young as 13, were on the island over the weekend for what police call "junior leavers" week, where youths in Year 11 and below celebrate the end of the school year.

The boss of an embattled Perth building company has assured hundreds of customers their unfinished homes would be completed with the help of "divine intervention". About 200 Nicheliving customers, some of whom signed contracts dating back to 2019, are still waiting for their homes to be finished. Rates of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are increasing worldwide and there currently exists no treatment for its long-term management. However, scientists at ECU have been investigating dietary interventions, specifically a compound which is found in some fruits and vegetables. Dr Lois Balmer is the lead researcher on this study and she says the polyphenol, Ellagic acid, which is found in pomegranates could halt and potentially reverse the damage caused by fatty liver disease.
