Roads are wet in many areas of the state this morning as scattered rain showers push on through. Today will be a windy and cool day with the morning remaining a bit unsettled with those scattered showers. This afternoon will be drier with sunny breaks returning to the area. There will be the chance of a pop-up/isolated thunderstorm this afternoon. The thunderstorm chance will linger into the first part of the evening before clearing skies overnight.

Roads are wet in some areas of the state this morning, but most Twin Cities roads are in good driving condition…so far. There are no heavy showers around the Twin Cities, but there are a few heavier showers near the Brainerd area this morning. The morning will remain a bit unsettled with scattered showers, but this afternoon will be drier with partial sunshine returning to the area. There is only the slight risk of an isolated thundershower this afternoon.

Expect a sunny start to the day today and then clouds will increase this afternoon. Although most of the day will be dry, there is the slight chance of a late day/evening shower or thunderstorm. A better chance of scattered showers and possible thunderstorms (not severe) will head our way later tonight and Friday morningFriday morning looks unsettled with scattered showers and thunderstorms, but the afternoon will be drier with partial sunshine returning to the area.

Today, the air will be much clearer and cleaner than it was across the state on Tuesday. Areas of smoke remain across parts of far Eastern MN, SE MN and Western WI. This smoke will clear through the day today. After some patchy fog this morning, sunshine and seasonable weather will be back today. Temperatures were stuck in the 50’s and 60’s all day on Tuesday thanks to the morning rain and afternoon clouds.

The Air Quality Alert which was first issued last Friday remains in effect today into Wednesday morning due to smoke from wildfires in Canada. Today will be the worst day for the smoke as you will be able to smell the smoke and see it here at ground level. Showers and possible thunderstorms this morning will slowly taper off and skies will remain just cloudy this afternoon. The showers have really cooled it off out there today. This afternoon, temperatures will only remain in the 60’s.
