Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club is again hosting a competition to raise money for the League of Friends of Musgrove Park Hospital – and the charity is appealing for golfers to take part. Last year, the Musgrove Cup attracted 52 pairs and raised £1,800 for the charity, which provides vital equipment for Musgrove Park Hospital. The money went towards a specialist operating table to support state of the art robotic surgery at the hospital (pictured above).

South West developer Summerfield has provided support for the new electronic scoreboard at Wellington RFC. It was installed at the Athletic Ground as part of the Chiefs’ 150th anniversary celebrations. Summerfield, a long-standing supporter of the club, has contributed £1,000 towards the cost. Managing director of Summerfield Homes, Ed Khodabandehloo, said: “It is great to see the new scoreboard up and running.

Year 11 students at Wellington School marked the end of their GCSEs in style at their Final Celebration in the Great Hall. The school reports: “From glamorous outfits to some very Somerset-style limousines (yes, we mean tractors), the evening was full of fun, pride, and laughter. “A delicious dinner, reflections on a fantastic few years, and dancing the night away with our incredible DJ – student Finn – made it a celebration to cherish.
