Under the cover of darkness, a thief helped themselves to hundreds of dollars of food destined for the homeless. In a freezer outside Giving Aroha founder Jackie Galland’s Nelson home, a man stole roasts and frozen chickens last week. While the 2am theft was caught on camera, the man’s face was not visible. The perpetrator was just centimetres away from her bedroom window.

Police and ambulance are responding to an incident in Palmerston North. A police spokesperson said they were called to a report someone had been injured at an address in the suburb of Westbrook. They were being given treatment by ambulance staff. Hato Hone St John has been contacted for comment.

Stuff speculated a few weeks ago that the Tiggo 4 had the potential to be one of the cheapest new cars on sale in New Zealand. Thieves have been caught on CCTV breaking into and stealing a car in Hobsonville Point, Auckland. The footage shows two people circling a vehicle on Squadron Drive before eventually opening the back and front door, starting the car and driving off. A police spokesperson said the vehicle was reported stolen from an address in Hobsonville Point on Thursday.
