CENTER – An unbelievable amount of runs were scored on Saturday as the Center High School baseball team hosted a doubleheader against Sanford at Lloyd M. Garcia Field. After the dust had settled a grand total of 74 runs were scored in the two games combined. All together, Sanford scored 52 runs and the Vikings 22. The Mustangs won both games by scores of 18-3 and 34-19. First gameAfter a scoreless first inning, the Mustangs struck for 11 runs in the top of the second.

ALAMOSA – The Hot Shots won the 38th Annual Arby’s boys All-Star Game Friday, 73-70, Friday at Adams State University’s Plachy Hall gym. Centauri’s Carson Bagwell scored the first points of the game for the Hot Shots, but Sierra Grande’s Aron Ojeda made a layup, and Monte Vista’s Alex Marquez made a 3-point basket for a 5-2 Top Shots lead. Bagwell knocked down a jumper, but Marquez did the same on the other end.

ALAMOSA – Three Hot Shots players scored in double figures as they defeated the Top Shots 55-48 in the 38th Annual Arby’s All-Star Game Friday at Adams State University’s Plachy Hall Gym. The Hot Shots took an early 9-0 lead on baskets by Monte Vista’s Allessah Archuleta, Sanford’s Brooklynn Reynolds and Monte Vista’s Daylin Castro, along with a 3-point basket by Centauri’s Hannah Curtis.
