    The 45th Extravaganza music festival took place on May 18, drawing in a large student-only crowd to watch headlining DJ Chris Lake and supporting acts Aminé, Ravyn Lenae, Snow Strippers and Zacari perform on the Harder Stadium stage. Extravaganza is organized and run by student members of UC Santa Barbara’s Associated Students Program Board (ASPB). This year’s festival was titled “Camp X,” taking on an outdoorsy theme. Camp X got off to a rocky start.

    Isla Vista bands Big Hungry and Cordoba performed on the 2025 Shabang Music Festival stage, bringing a UC Santa Barbara presence to Dairy Creek Golf Course in San Luis Obispo for the two-day music festival. Both bands were included on the lineup featuring popular headliners Jungle and Wallows, along with performers Briston Maroney, Kream and Odd Mob. Big Hungry won the annual Santa Barbara segment of the Battle of the Bands tour on Feb.

    One of Isla Vista’s staples found on the corner of Pardall, KOZY Coffee recently made the switch from Monin syrups to house made syrups, elevating the quality and taste of their drinks. With a new seasonal menu and new vanilla cold foam, a whole new world of drink combinations has opened up. As someone who is frequently at KOZY — a KOZY creature, if you will — I was more than excited to try the new drinks.

    Last winter quarter, I made the decision to pursue a double major in communication and something else. At the time, I wasn’t completely sure what that something else would be. Over the summer I decided it would be statistics and data science. The next step was actually letting UCSB know I wanted to take on a double major.

    Driving up and down the Pacific Coast Highway, stopping at the Bluffs, and driving home was always the go-to activity for me and my friends whenever we were bored. I will never forget those late night drives blasting music and just being at peace. Growing up in Santa Monica meant that the Pacific Palisades were always right around the corner.
