A fisherman spent part of Thanksgiving morning being stripped of his soggy clothing after he tumbled into the waters of a local lake. Santa Rosa firefighters Matt Schillings and A.J. Alcocer rescued the man, who was spotted clinging to his capsized kayak at Nagasawa Community Park off Fountaingrove Parkway. The man was helped out of his clothes to be warmed up by blankets and heaters after falling into the 50-degree water. He was then taken to Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center.

About 13,000 customers in Northern California woke up without electricity Friday after Pacific Gas and Electric shut off power to prevent its equipment from sparking wildfires amid dry weather and strong winds expected to last through part of the weekend. The utility began cutting power Thursday evening to customers in 12 counties, including several in the San Francisco Bay Area. PG&E also shut off power to some customers farther north in Colusa, Glenn, Tehama and Shasta counties.
