A 63-year-old man was killed Thursday evening after crashing head-on with a dump truck 1 mile west of Tahlequah. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Ricky W. Kerr was westbound on State Highway 51 in a 2011 Dodge Journey, and the driver of the 2000 freightliner was eastbound. At around 7:30 p.m., Kerr entered the eastbound lane and the two vehicles impacted. Kerr was pronounced dead on the scene by Cherokee Nation EMS. The driver of the truck was not injured.

Keri Gordon 7 minutes ago1 min readA 36-year-old man is dead after two-vehicle crash six miles east of Salina. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 6 a.m. April 15 on 6015 Kenwood Road. Chad Flickinger was admitted in critical conditon after he was airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was pronounced dead April 17.

A man was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm after he allegedly admitted to firing a weapon during a dispute. On April 14, Cherokee County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Cohen responded to West 806 Road for reports of threats being made. William Johnson, 76, accused a woman of having problems with people, and shooting at his dog. He went on to say that the woman's dog comes into his yard all the time, and he never shoots at the dog.
