National and local animal shelters are doing their part to ensure Oklahoma becomes a no-kill state. New data indicated Oklahoma saved 77% of cats and dogs in animal shelters. According to the Best Friends Animal Society, 49 out of 104 shelters in Oklahoma achieved or maintained no-kill status in 2024. Another 39 shelters are fewer than 100 animals away from achieving that milestone.
