In 1952, a slow boat from Hong Kong arrived in New Zealand carrying one metric tonne of lead type. This would be used by the Dominion Federation of New Zealand Chinese Commercial Growers Incorporated to print The NZ Chinese Growers Monthly Journal (僑農月刊) until 1972.

More details have emerged about the woman at the centre of one of Australia's biggest mysteries. Erin Patterson, who's been accused of murder over a deadly mushroom meal, was a Melbourne air traffic controller in 2001 until abruptly leaving in 2002. At the time she was not married to her ex-husband Simon Patterson and went by the name of Erin Scutter. Former colleagues who do not wish to be named described her in one word - a "loner".

An Australian paediatric nurse has shared a potentially lifesaving technique she believes all parents should know, known as the 'mother's kiss'. On her Instagram platform CPR Kids, nurse Sarah Hunstead demonstrated the method to her viewers, noting: "We know kids put things up their noses. Police say they had fireworks shot at them while responding to an illegal street racing event in Hawke's Bay on Saturday night. Road policing manager Inspector Angela Hallett confirmed the use of fireworks in a police statement. "Fireworks were used by this group against law enforcement during their activity, and we took strong measures to keep our staff safe and reduce harm to innocent members of the public," said Hallett.
