    A Hampshire Cricket super fan has travelled on his own to Guyana to support the team in their bid to win the inaugural Global Super League title. Alan Davis, from Newbury, in Berkshire, is the only Hampshire fan to have made it out to South America for the competition.

    Hampshire's Toby Albert has backed his team in their must-win final group game against Victoria on Thursday in the Global Super League. After victory in the opening match they have now fallen to back-to-back defeats in the 20-over competition, losing to Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday. Hampshire need victory against top of the table Victoria to have any chance of making it to Friday's final. "It’s been hard chasing in these games," Albert told BBC Radio Solent.

    New Hampshire recruit Shan Masood praised the "team effort" of his side after they won a thrilling opening Global Super League game in Guyana. The Hawks beat Bangladesh club Rangpur Riders in a super over at the Providence Stadium on Wednesday night. Masood scored 56 off 41 balls on his debut as Hampshire ended their T20 innings on 132, a total the Riders managed to tie.

    Also competing are Bangladesh’s Rangpur Riders, Pakistan’s Lahore Qalandars, Guyana's Amazon Warriors and Australian state side Victoria. The five sides will play for the chance to be crowned champions and win a prize pot of $1million (£764,000). The Hawks take on Rangpur Riders on Wednesday in their first game with 11 matches taking place in as many days, starting on Tuesday, 26 November.
