With playoff teams taking the field up to 60 times in a season, it shouldn't be any surprise that a team from Alabama tops the list of high school softball teams with the most runs scored in 2025. In fact, the Yellowhammer State has 10 teams on the list. With a record of 47-7-1, Springville leads four Alabama teams with over 500 runs at 529. The Tigers had 30 games with 10 or more runs, but ironically they never scored over 20 runs.

For the second time in three years, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) holds the title of national champion after finishing No. 1 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 high school baseball rankings of the 2025 season. Undefeated (25-0) and crowned national champions in 2023, the Ascenders came up one win short of doing the same in 2025, finishing 24-1. Statistically, the Chiefs spread the wealth as eight players had 40 or more runs scored.

Winners in the California, Illinois and Texas state playoffs all  made a move in this week's MaxPreps Top 25 high school baseball rankings. De La Salle (Concord, Calif.) rallied from a two-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh to capture the Northern California Division 1 championship and moved into the rankings for the first time this year at No. 11. In the semifinals, the Spartans also defeated a St. Mary's (Stockton) team that had won the Boras Classic earlier this season.
