    According to comments made by Thermal Club founder and owner Tim Rogers, the NTT IndyCar Series may not be returning to the privately-owned California track next season. IndyCar has taken a trip to the exclusive motor club for each of the past three years, including a $1 million exhibition event in 2024 and a full points paying race in March of this season. The event was a bit of an outlier due to the private nature of the track, which only allowed a few thousand fans to attend in person.

    During Sunday’s IndyCar race at Road America, David Malukas was the first driver to find trouble. He touched the grass under braking into Turn 3 on the first lap, and spun into the gravel trap as the rest of the field roared past. After bring pulled out of the gravel, Malukas set about making up for lost ground. He climbed back through the field over the race’s 55 laps to finish right where he started in seventh position.

    Santino Ferrucci finished third in Sunday’s race from Road America, earning his second IndyCar podium in the past three races. That result was far from guaranteed, however, as he was witness to all sorts of chaos in the opening few laps. Ferrucci started in 18th, saw David Malukas then Callum Ilott go off course in front of him, and in total there were four cautions in the first half of the race.

    Road America was the scene of this weekend’s IndyCar event, and high temperatures played a part in Sunday’s event. Alex Palou navigated the heat and also chose the correct pit strategy, which allowed him to take his seventh victory of the season. His points lead now extends to 93 points halfway through the season. Felix Rosenqvist and Santino Ferrucci filled out the podium, with each more than happy to come out with a top result in such a chaotic race.

    The NTT IndyCar Series contested a fierce race at Road America Sunday afternoon, with drivers battling the extreme heat as well as each other for the duration. At the green flag, ambient temperatures were hovering around 94 degrees Fahrenheit (34C), and the asphalt was considerably hotter. That did not stop all 27 drivers from pushing the limits for the entire race, however, and action was high from the very start.
