A remarkable 94.9% of recent Central Michigan University graduates are employed, continuing their education or participating in military or other service, according to the newly calculated Career Outcomes Rate. The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees voted Tuesday to adopt a new $443.2 million operating budget for fiscal year 2024-2025 that will allow the university to continue to provide academic programs and student services, and to invest in key strategic priorities. Trustees also approved tuition, housing and food rates for the upcoming academic year.

The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees will hold committee meetings on Monday and meet in formal session Tuesday on the Mount Pleasant campus. On Monday, trustees will visit the CMU College of Science and Engineering to explore its programs and facilities. Dean David Ford will guide trustees through an overview of the college’s accomplishments and its commitment to STEM and other programs. The tour will be followed by trustee committee meetings.

After 45 years working at Central Michigan University, Betty Wagner is proud of the service she has offered students and families. Although she says she is still surprised by some of the questions she fields. One question regarding rodents stands out. “A mom called me in a panic because her son had moved off campus and his roommate was raising rats. He had 21 rats in this apartment,” Wagner said.
