The New Bedford immigrant who was arrested after agents smashed the window of his vehicle on April 14 is still in custody in New Hampshire even though a judge ordered his release Thursday. Juan Francisco Méndez will likely remain in custody as Immigration and Customs Enforcement files formal charges. An administrative error caused  Méndez to be assigned multiple Alien Registration Numbers, creating confusions among the lawyers, the courts and ICE, according to his lawyer, Ondine Gálvez Sniffin.
