Tunkhannock Area High School girl’s lacrosse player, Madelyn Bevan, competed in the USA Lacrosse 2025 Women’s National Tournament held at the University of Massachusetts overMemorial Day weekend. Bevan tried out for and was selected to play on Team Philly in this tournament that saw teams represented from all regions of the country. Their competitionincluded teams from Maine, Florida, Massachusetts/Rhode Island and Central Pennsylvania.

Sometimes in baseball, it’s the little things that could be the difference in the game, and that was certainly the case for Elk Lake in its District 2 Class 2A semifinal. The Warriors pitching staff walked 11 men and hit three batters, and its offense left eight men on base as No. 3 Old Forge was able to come away with a 7-5 victory over No. 2 Elk Lake on Tuesday, May 27 in the district semifinals at Elk Lake.

Several Wyoming County ambulance companies are receiving help courtesy of a donation campaign put together by the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation. At a Wyoming County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday morning (May 27), Commissioner Rick Wilbur read a letter from the WCCHF stating that financial contributions are still being accepted for the EMS staffing program, and that approximately $300,000 has already been raised with local businesses, organizations and donors donating.
