According to the release, a growing inventory of more than 10,000 active listings means, in many cases, that buyers have time, selection and price negotiation on their side.

An early-morning fire on the water in Mission has caused the City of Mission to activate its Emergency Operations Centre. The derelict BC Ferry (Queen of Sidney) is on fire on the Fraser River. The fire happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday, May 3 and a large plume of smoke could be seen coming from the vessel. Residents in the nearby area (Chester Street to 287 Street/South of Lougheed Highway) were advised to shelter in place to minimize exposure to any hazardous emissions.

Click your ruby slippers together and say “There’s no place like the hospice gala.” The Wizard of Oz was the theme for the 20th annual Mission Hospice Society Gala Celebration on Saturday (April 26) evening. The event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the local organization. Attendees definitely got into the spirit of things, dressing up as Munchkins (the Lollipop Guild to be specific) witches, lions, tin men and even a twister.

The 88-year-old has been volunteering with the Auxiliary for the past 55 years. But her story doesn’t begin there. Originally from Italy, Marcella came to Canada in 1958 after she met Dominico Cividino. She married him after only two months together and the marriage lasted 58 years.
