Just over £2,992,981 in council tax payments from 2024 is still owed by 5,774 people in Worcester as of April 1, 2025. Among this number, 2,644 people still owe a combined £1,616,851.08 from 2023, and 2,049 are required to pay their council tax from 2023. Almost £200,000 is still owed by 460 people from as far back as 2018. Worcester City Council is in charge of collecting council tax and can issue reminder notices if it is not paid by its deadline.

Andrew Lawton, 49, appeared at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (June 18) charged with exceeding the speed limit on a motorway. Lawton, of St Michael's Road, Rugeley, Staffordshire, was snapped by a variable speed camera on August 28, 2024, while driving a Peugeot six miles above the posted speed limit of 40 miles per hour, which had been reduced from 70 miles per hour. He was caught while driving between junction 15A and junction 15 of the M1, near Northampton.
