A prison boss who allegedly stole more than $112,000 from inmates gambled more than $1 million at the casino in an attempt to pay off his debts, an Adelaide court has heard. Former Adelaide Remand Centre general manger Brenton Williams, 47, pleaded guilty to aggravated theft for stealing the money from a prison safe where it was being held on behalf of inmates, as well as funds from the centre’s petty cash.
