The American Seniors Housing Association and Argentum were among 44 organizations that signed onto an April 15 letter from the Coalition for a Democratic Workforce to Congress in support of the Start Applying Labor Transparency, or SALT, Act.

Dallas-based commercial real estate services firm BBG published its third annual US seniors housing investor survey on Wednesday, with insights from senior living market professionals on major trends expected to affect senior living this year. The survey was conducted in March.

State legislators have been busy considering legislation affecting assisted living operators around the country, including bills addressing dementia care standards, torte reform and Medicaid funding. Washington state lawmakers are considering SB 5337, which would require the state Department of Social and Health Services to develop a certification process for assisted living communities that offer memory care services.
