A two-year-old Rangiora girl is overcoming obstacles her family was told she would never achieve — becoming an internet sensation while she’s doing it. The victim of an early morning incident on Bealey Avenue was stabbed in the chest, Chris Lynch Media understands. Ministry of Social Development Emergency Housing residents at Aotea Motel, as well as overnight guests, were awoken just after midnight to a commotion outside the motel. Investigations are underway into an incident at a central city Christchurch motel where it is understood there was a stabbing overnight. The city side of Bealey Ave, between Fitzgerald Ave and Madras Street, has been reduced to one lane. An eyewitness told Chris Lynch Media that there are police markings next to blood stains on the road outside Aotea Motel.

A two-car crash has blocked the road on the Christchurch side of the tunnel into Lyttelton. Police were advised of the crash on Tunnel Road, Heathcote Valley, at 3.15pm, which was blocking two lanes. A police spokesperson said, “Traffic management was put in place and towing has been arranged for the vehicles.”St John responded with one ambulance and two rapid response vehicles.
