I keep telling people California is ripe for a flip, but I am mostly met with eye rolls and scorn. “The idiots in your state will just vote for different Democrats who will do the same things,” is a refrain often heard. And therein lies the issue. I am not convinced Californians are actually voting for Democrats and their endlessly retarded policies. It is no accident that it takes us over a month to count ballots in any given election cycle. Our system is designed for corruption.

California elections are the laughing stock of the United States. It takes us a month to finish counting and certify elections. Anyone with a shred of sanity understands that the longer it takes to count an election, the more open to fraud and abuse it becomes.

Earlier this week, a federal judge blocked Trump’s federal funding freeze, saying “furthering the President’s wishes cannot be a blank check for OMB to do as it pleases.”The decision immediately ignited a firestorm of discussion about just how far an unelected judge can go to obstruct an elected President’s plans. One represents the will of the people, the other represents the letter of the law. Confusion abounds.

Last week Los Angeles suffered the firestorm of the century - 90 mph winds combined with drought conditions and record low humidity to destroy most of Pacific Palisades, much of Altadena and various other neighborhoods and structures across Los Angeles county. We don’t even need to talk about the dry fire hydrants at the moment. We’ve all been watching the news.
