Self-described democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani delivered a shock win Tuesday night as he defeated disgraced former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and all comers for the Dem primary election for mayor of New York City. That such a zealot could get this far stunned even many leftists. As we’ve reported, he’s way, way out there and as extreme as they come, dreaming of a socialist utopia where the government freezes rents and runs the grocery stores.

Shh, don’t tell CNN. Don’t tell the New York Times. But Iran’s foreign ministry is admitting that the U.S. strikes on its nuclear sites did do some serious damage to their facilities. Iran publicly admitted for the first time Wednesday that its nuclear sites were “badly damaged” by the American bunker-busting bombs.

I couldn’t watch the news for a month, I was so deflated (I wasn’t writing at RedState at the time). And even though I knew a Joe Biden presidency was not going to be good for the country, I was still flabbergasted by how hard left he veered and what a truly awful, destructive, divisive commander in chief he turned out to be. I knew it was going to be bad—just not that bad.
