The increasing global use of fossil fuels as energy sources is associated with greenhouse gas emissions, air pollution, and detrimental climate effects. As a result, there is a growing interest in renewable low-carbon energy, and in particular from accessible agricultural residues [1]. Various thermochemical conversion technologies, such as combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis, have been investigated to extract energy from biomass and transform it into valuable chemicals [2].
