Usually when I want to spend two-and-a-half hours staring at a screen I open TikTok. Last week, however, I decided to see The Wizard of Oz at the Birmingham Hippodrome to get the same headache-inducing experience. There’s a reason The Wizard of Oz has been adapted so many times: it’s great. The original story from the 1900 book and the songs from the 1939 film have inspired creatives for over a hundred years and audiences love it every time.

Gaming Editor Kitty Grant serves up a tasty review of Toasterball, the bread based ping-pong game Toasterball was received for free for review purposes. Toast. Balls. What else is there to say about Toasterball? Well it turns out, quite a lot. Toasterball is simple in theory: you play as a toaster battling another toaster to keep a ball from smashing through the wall behind you by popping your toast up to bat the ball away from your side.

Mail Time was received for free for review purposesSince buying my switch in March 2020, I’ve only really played two games: Animal Crossing and Mario Kart, so I’m only really used to big budget games made by massive teams. Made primarily by one developer, Kela van der Deijl, Mail Time definitely fits into the category of ‘indie’, which was a new, and enjoyable, way of gaming for me.

Many buffets specialise in a specific cuisine, but Umami in Coventry’s main selling point is that they are an all-you-can-eat buffet which offers food from around the world. Their website describes it as a ‘gourmet tour of the world’s tastiest dishes’, and while there were lots of options from around the world (well, Eurasia to be specific) the word ‘gourmet’ is a little generous. I was not sure what to expect from Umami before we arrived.

Culture Writer Kitty Grant reviews The Bodyguard: The Musical finding the cast to be incredibly talented despite the story being rushed and unemotional A few months ago, this production of The Bodyguard made headlines after a performance was stopped early after audience members refused to stop singing along. Based on the 1992 film of the same name, The Bodyguard uses the music of Whitney Houston, who also starred in the film.

I'm working on a story about the experiences of LGBTQ families in London and I'm looking for both parents and children to chat to on camera. This is for a student project but would be posted on YouTube. #journorequest

Last night I had the chance to appear in the Newsnight audience for their healthcare special. Thank you to @ellenmjknight and @lauren_mcgaun for making it happen and a massive well done to my friend Lily for sharing her story.

“At that point I couldn’t wait any longer… I think the effects to my mental health would be really detrimental” Birmingham student Lilly says she had to go private after waiting more than a year for a possible ADHD diagnosis #Newsnight https://t.co/Bw3AiRiE4Z

Rishi Sunak wants to crack down on "Micky Mouse" degrees which reminds me of when I was studying abroad in California at Claremont McKenna College (the one Rishi Sunak donated $3 million to) which offered a class in Theatrical Clowning...
